The deck for I-75’s new southbound bridge over Detroit and Berdan avenues requires seven concrete pours, the fourth of which was done last week.Whether any more will be finished this year remains to be seen, but there’s still plenty of work to get done before I-75’s reconstruction and widening between Lagrange Street and the I-475 “Jeep Split” is complete, the Ohio Department of Transportation’s project engineer said.

Once those deck pours are all done and other work necessary to move southbound traffic back into its proper lanes is complete, the northbound bridge now carrying four lanes of traffic — two lanes each way — still has some deck to be built before it’s finished, engineer Eric Laeng said.
